Gale has very strong opinions, and he’s very political,” says Queer as Folk executive producer Ron Cowen, with no small measure of pride. “Sometimes I think he’s the smartest person I’ve ever met. I know a lot of smart, well-educated, well-read people. But there’s something about Gale where it takes a leap from education or keen intelligence to some other place. Genius is a cheap word, especially in Hollywood. But he’s really smart. (Devotee’s Favorite)

Q. it was such a great role. And you’re doing such different stuff now and I’m starting to look at you in a different way. A. I’m glad that you say that. That’s kind of a baseline obstacle for an actor who comes from a place of obsurity then gets a big job and then they get associated with whatever that big job is. And when the job is really somewhat extreme then you worry. Everyone decides to get freaked out about typecasting at some point in their lives. But I really wasn’t…. If I was never anything other than what I did on that show then maybe I would be typecast but I think I have the ability to consider the world at large and approach it. ~ Gale Harold on leaving Brian Kinney in the past (2008)

He doesn’t make it easy on his fans, though. He’s perfectly sweet – nothing short of an angel when I met him – but he eschews publicity for the most part. Modesty is good in an icon, but he’s a little too wary of the internet, especially for a post-modern man. He’s uncomfortable at public appearances, but he’ll literally do handstands before the cameras. His interviews are a trip – he makes no secret of trying to avoid answering even the most mundane questions. The impression it gives is that Gale is thinking on a higher plane, and he won’t come down just to please someone else. ~ Author’s thought on Gale Harold (TheGoddess.org)

Gale Harold’s eyes tell all you need to know. Anyone lucky enough to gaze into those eyes will know that your personal sexual orientations takes a backseat and emotions take over. Gale is the classic definition of desire! He pulls you in even against your will. QWGF (Harold’s Dykes)

I want to keep developing. I want to become relaxed in my own work and go deeper. Just growing and studying and trying new things and hopefully having professional access to work that’s good and interesting. I don’t want to be on the treadmill of artificiality. ~Gale Harold
